The Jakarta International Airport is actually located in Tangerang, Banten Province, some 20 kilometres West of Jakarta. Named after the first President and Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia, the airport is also known as Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Jakarta. The other name is Cengkareng Airport that remain used as the airport's IATA code CGK.

Airport shuttle bus are serving variuos destinations in the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan area. Airport bus operated by DAMRI are connecting the airport to Bekasi (Giant Hypermart), Plaza Blok M, Botani Square Bogor, Plaza Cikarang Jababeka, Gambir Station, Kampung Rambutan Bus Station, Kemayoran, Kota Harapan Indah, Lebak Bulus, Mangga 2 Square, Pasar Minggu, Rawamangun, Serang, and Tanjung Priok. Other bus operated by Primajasa and X-Trans travel connecting the airport with Bandung and Semanggi area.

There are first and business lounges available in the departure area of the Jakarta International Airport for first and business class passengers of certain airlines. Duty free shop, souvenir shop, restaurants and cafetaria are available in all terminal on Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
The Soekarno-Hatta International airport is collecting passenger airport tax IDR 150,000 for each international passenger and IDR 40,000 for each domestic passenger.
